211 Ontario provides a Business Intelligence Dashboard, to help improve access and quality of care for all Ontarians.

When an individual contacts 211, anonymized data is collected, about where they are located and what their needs are, service availability gaps and barriers. By sharing that information with others, 211 Ontario is helping to inform policy and funding decisions.

211 Dashboard data for the Niagara region of Ontario shows that, in 2023:

  • A total of 21,261 calls were made to 211 from all local areas of Niagara
  • Of the callers, 44.09% were women, the majority were adults (40.96%), and 12.13% were older adults.
  • The top 5 reasons for calling in 2023 were:
    o Housing (23.50%)
    o Individual/Family Services (14.27%)
    o Health (10.60%)
    o Information Services (9.18%)
    o Other Government/Economic Services (6.40%)
  • Unmet Needs were identified in 841 of the calls.
    o The top Unmet Need, identified by needs category, was Housing (443 calls/52.68%).
    o The top Unmet Need by reason was ‘Full/waiting list’ (302 calls), followed by ‘No resource found to meet need’ (219 calls).
