A partnership between Mainstream and Niagara College has resulted in students helping older adults to connect virtually to the community around them.  A New Horizons for Seniors grant supported a one-year project which spanned 3 college terms (Spring 2021 to Winter 2022).

Recreation Therapy students and a few students from the Social Service Worker program at the college were involved in the project, which was designed to support social participation and inclusion for seniors and help community-based organizations adapt to a virtual environment.

Mainstream, located in St. Catharines, is an organization that provides progressive residential and day support services for adults with developmental differences.
