Niagara Community Foundation 2023 Annual Report – Turning Intent into Impact
In 2023, the Niagara Community Foundation (NCF) provided nearly $3.5 million in grants, bringing the foundation’s historical grants tally to over $27.5 million to Niagara’s charitable sector since the foundation’s inception in 2000. NCF’s mission is to improve the quality of life in Niagara through philanthropy.
Other 2023 report highlights include:
- Grants to nine projects totaling just under $134,000 were made through the Dorothea Thomas Foundation, in support of environmental projects focusing on protection, preservation and rehabilitation of our environment and natural habitat
- Six charities in Niagara were chosen to receive NCF Governance Coaching Program support. The program provides consultant support to improve selected priority areas including: board leadership, oversight, policies and processes, financial accountability and transparency, fundraising strategy and donor relationships and staff and volunteer management.
- Four NCF fundraising professional development seminar sessions, open to any local charity or non-profit were delivered, in partnership with the Armstrong Strategy Group. Topics included: Marketing and Communications, Building a Case for Support, Capital Campaigns and Grant Writing.
