Canada in a Changing Climate: Advancing our Knowledge for Action is the national assessment of how and why Canada’s climate is changing; the impacts of those changes on our communities, environment, economy, and how we are adapting. The 2022 Regional Perspectives Report, including the Ontario Perspective in Chapter 3, is provided by Natural Resources Canada.

  • Nature-based approaches help address climate change impact on biodiversity and ecosystem services
  • Adaptive management is key for addressing impact in the Great Lakes Basin
  • Adaptation improves forest health, carbon storage and biodiversity
  • Climate change brings threats and opportunities to Ontario agriculture and food systems
  • Existing human health inequities will be worsened by climate change
  • Progress on adaptation remains limited in Ontario
