Summary:In this webinar, we discussed age stereotypes and ageism from a number of perspectives. First, we reviewed how ageist portrayals of older people permeate the media. Second, we presented the content of age stereotypes and discussed how they lead to ageist behavior and how this can affect how older people view themselves. Last, we touched upon implications for how people living with dementia are likely stigmatized and also suggest ways to mitigate age stereotypes and ageist behaviour.
