Feed Niagara represents 10 registered food banks across Niagara that are Feed Ontario Members. The food banks work in partnership to provide safe and nutritious food to people in need, and advocate to address the underlying causes of food insecurity. As members of Feed Ontario, they bring food supply into the region from provincial resources that otherwise would not be available here.

Feed Niagara Members issued a December, 2022 News Release stating that in Niagara, and Ontario, food bank usage is up over 40%, while support is down. Factors contributing to the unprecedented demand that Feed Niagara Members are experiencing include: increased food expenses, unsustainable rental costs and serving more people who present with complex and diverse needs.

Feed Niagara members are part of provincially- and nationally-recognized associations:

  • Feed Ontario is the provinces largest collective of hunger-relief organizations. More than half a million people visit a food bank in Ontario every year.
  • Food Banks Canada supports a network of ten provincial associations and more than 4750 hunger relief organizations, in every province and territory. There were almost 1.5 million visits to food banks in Canada in March, 2022
