The Niagara Food Security Network is pleased to launch the new Food Resources in Niagara webpage through our partnership with INCommunities/211 and United Way Niagara.
The Food Resources in Niagara page features two core information functions:
- Niagara Food Assets Map
- Additional Resources
The Niagara Food Assets Map is fueled by 211 data for particular food program and service provision categories. The Assets Map tool is searchable by specific categories, for users to find food assets across Niagara. Map data and categories will be updated on an ongoing basis, as new priority assets are identified. A tip sheet with map user instructions and category definitions is provided, to maximize the user experience.

To keep the Assets Map current, we encourage agencies providing food security programs and services to make it a priority to ensure their organization’s data is up to date through INCommunities/211. Agencies can easily do this by visiting https://niagara.cioc.ca/, going to their particular agency record, reviewing the information, and making any updates as needed.
