The Brock University Niagara Community Observatory and the Niagara Workforce Planning Board have partnered to highlight the gender impacts of the economic shutdown during the pandemic. The group uses the latest job numbers from Statistics Canada’s Labour Force Survey (February to August 2020) to illustrate that women have borne the brunt of employment losses in Niagara since the pandemic shut down in March, and continue to do so.
