At the request of the Province of Ontario, in late April 2020, Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) medical personnel and troops were sent to long-term care facilities in Etobicoke, North York, Pickering, Scarborough and Brampton. These facilities were in urgent and immediate need of personnel to provide humanitarian relief and medical support. After two weeks of observation, the CAF team provided this report, which identifies a number of medical professional and technical issues present at the five facilities in key areas of Standards and Quality of Medical Care.
