This is policy brief #45 from the Niagara Community Observatory at Brock University. Dr. Kyle Rich and Dr. Martha Barnes from the Department of Recreation and Leisure Studies at Brock report on their research in which they examined a partnership that sought to promote mental health by encouraging participants to engage in a walking program in parks and outdoor spaces throughout Ontario. Using a social network analysis, they sought to understand how partners from health, nonprofit, and municipal recreation sectors worked together using their combined knowledge and resources to promote mental health.
