In light of the many challenges that emerged with COVID-19, the Ontario Chamber of Commerce (OCC) developed this guidebook to provide employers with practical information, guidance, and resources to address the persistent mental health action gap. The OCC defines ‘mental health action gap’ as the gap between the number of businesses who believe investing in mental health is important and the number of firms who are taking concrete action, according to survey data collected by the OCC.

The playbook offers:

  • A summary of the feedback businesses and mental health experts shared during two virtual consultations;
  • Five actions to improve employee mental health and morale; and
  • Resources that can be leveraged to develop psychologically healthy and safe workplaces.
