Tree fruit growers are aware to the negative impact of insufficient moisture on the yields, size and quality of their fruit.  Dry weather conditions in recent years have increased grower interest in having tools available to monitor soil moisture in orchards. This project focuses on evaluating several different soil moisture sensing devices in different growing regions and under different soil conditions to assess their accuracy, longevity and ease of use.
