The Niagara Suicide Prevention Coalition (NSPC) was formed in 2003 due to the concerns regarding the number of suicides in the Niagara Region. The NSPC is a partnership of representatives from various health, education, social service, faith, and private sector organizations working collaboratively to address prevention, intervention, and postvention aspects of suicide.

The purpose of the NSPC is to build strong community partnerships that will work together to continue to implement the comprehensive suicide prevention strategy that was developed to meet the needs of all Niagara residents.
