This is an event recording of the March 29, 2023 Age-Friendly Niagara Council (AFNC) webinar, hosted by Niagara Connects, to share results of the 2022 ‘Empowering Older Adults in Niagara’ survey, conducted by the AFNC.

More than 1,200 adults 50+ from all parts of Niagara completed the survey. Their insights into ways to strengthen Niagara as an age-friendly community provide valuable information for decision-makers, front-line staff, service providers, business leaders, planners, municipalities, and others.

Presenters include Dominic Ventresca, Age-Friendly Niagara Council Interim Board Chair; Pat Spadafora of Kaleidoscope Consulting, who coordinated the 2022 survey; Pauli Gardner, Associate Professor of Health Sciences, Brock University, who is part of a research team that in 2021 examined volunteering experiences of older adults serving on municipal older adult advisory committees in all parts of Niagara.

The 2022 ‘Empowering Older Adults in Niagara’ survey was made possible through funding from the Government of Canada’s New Horizons for Seniors program.
