This recording of the September 02, 2020 webinar shares information about the Niagara HELPS (Homelessness Emergency Liaison & Peer Support) project.

Niagara HELPS is a new peer initiative that involves individuals with lived experience utilizing both their compassion and knowledge of community resources. The program also helps hospital Emergency Department staff to deepen their knowledge and understanding of the experience of, and barriers faced by the homeless population.

– Dr. Rahat Hossain, Resident Physician, Department of Psychiatry, University of Toronto
– Scott Cronkwright, Peer Support Navigator

Presenters shared knowledge about Peer Support programs in Niagara and beyond; HELPS Project origins and research; and how project data collection will help the homeless population. Niagara Connects hosted this webinar, in partnership with Quest CHC and Niagara HELPS project partners.
