“The future is physical: Moving to a better normal in Canada” is the theme of the 2021 ParticipACTION Report Card on Physical Activity for Adults.  Grades for three key Indicators in the Report Card provide some of the greatest opportunities for improvement:  Active Transportation; Light Physical Activity; and Sedentary Behaviours.

The Report Card represents a comprehensive summary of the literature and national-level surveys in the field of physical activity, recreation and sport.  The 2021 version examines the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and highlights many of the challenges and opportunities it has brought about in the physical activity space.

The Report Card grades 18 different indicators grouped into four categories. Together, they provide a comprehensive assessment of how we are doing as a nation regarding the promotion and facilitation of physical activity among adults living in Canada.
