Online Event U-First! is an innovative education program for all members of the care team who are supporting people with behaviour changes due to dementia or other cognitive impairment. This includes health care providers in a direct care role and care partners (family and friends). The U-First! Framework is a person-centered approach to looking at the whole person. U-First! Advanced is a new education program for health care staff who provide direct care, who have already taken U-First! and want to enhance their skills and ability to apply the U-First! Framework. This 6-hour education program will help you to: – Deepen your understanding and ability to apply the U-First! framework – Improve collaboration among all members of the team, including care partners – Increase the wellbeing of people experiencing behaviour changes – Reduce stress and increase job satisfaction for you and for others on the team This is a pilot for the U-First! Advanced program being developed by the Alzheimer Society Of Ontario. Participants will take part in the education program and be invited to share their feedback through surveys and interviews.
