Men and women working in the front-lines as student support professionals provide support to students experiencing emotional, mental and physical difficulties. Providing this level of constant care is demanding and stressful and can encroach upon the personal life of the professional counsellor or therapist if the updating of adequate support measures is ignored.
The webinar covers burnout and stress for front-line staff in the postsecondary mental health sector, and various coping strategies.
- Understanding stress and burnout
- What constitutes a Critical Incident (CI)
- Defusings and Debriefings
- Types of stress
- Coping strategies
This webinar is hosted by the Centre for Innovation in Campus Mental Health.
