We invite you to a free webinar entitled Secrets to Success: Lessons learned about volunteerism from the Age-Friendly Niagara (AFN) movement.
Please save the date & time: Thursday, June 9 from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. EST.
In this webinar, in partnership with the Age-Friendly Niagara Council, we will present the findings of our study. Those include the history of the AFN movement, motivations and benefits of volunteerism, and the lessons learned from older adult volunteers for building a resilient “community for all ages”.
We presented our preliminary results at the International Federation of Aging (IFA) Global Conference in Niagara Falls last November. The presentation was well-received by delegates from around the world.
The webinar is free and open to everyone.
We hope to extend this invitation to our participants, members of the Age-Friendly Niagara Council and municipal Age-Friendly/Seniors/Wellness Advisory committees, including staff and municipal councillors, and all others.
To register, please click the link below. We will send an event link to those who registered later.
The event is dedicated to Mr. Doug Rapelje, an age-friendly community champion and our mentor.
