With legalization of recreational cannabis on the horizon, there is concern that communicating prevention messages to youth may be more challenging than ever given the potential for further normalization society-wide.

This webinar is aimed at those interested in developing health communications targeting Ontario’s youth to promote awareness about the new legal framework and prevent use/misuse of cannabis during this critical time of brain development.

The audience will:

  1. Understand the key elements of Ontario’s framework for managing the federal legalization of cannabis;
  2. Learn about youth-focused prevention campaigns implemented in jurisdictions where cannabis is already legal (Colorado, Oregon, Washington);
  3. Review lessons learned from successful tobacco prevention messaging; and
  4. Discuss how these learnings, and experiences shared by attendees, can be applied to develop effective cannabis prevention messages for youth in Ontario.

This webinar will include a presentation followed by an opportunity for an interactive discussion.

This webinar is hosted by HC Link.
