In Niagara, 1 person dies by suicide every 9 days. This rate is high, and help does exist for people having thoughts of suicide.

During this interactive webinar, Niagara Suicide Prevention Coalition (NSPC) leaders will provide an update about the impact of suicide in Niagara with a new video; and launch a resource that is available to support suicide prevention, intervention, and postvention in our community.

Featured Presenter Shannon McHugh is a Staff Lawyer with the Niagara Community Legal Clinic. Shannon will be joined by Joanne Bovine of Contact Niagara, and Keegan Kaior of the Kristen French Child Advocacy Centre. All 3 are members of the NSPC Community Awareness Committee. The Coalition includes over 20 community agencies and members at large, with a common goal of working together to make Niagara a suicide-safer community.

This webinar will be of particular interest to anyone in Niagara who wants to learn about suicide statistics, and how to access new resources available to strengthen suicide prevention.
