A recent ruling on harassment by the Ontario Superior Court is a wakeup call for employers. Referred to as the “tort of harassment” and “harassment as an independent cause of action,” the Superior Court ruling makes it easier for employees to sue their employer for damages resulting from workplace harassment.

In this engaging and informative webinar, harassment specialist, investigator and clinician Donna Marshall, explains new risks and responsibilities facing not for profit employers with regard to how they prevent, manage and respond to incidents of harassment in their workplace.

In this session you will learn:

  • Learn about the link between workplace harassment and claims for mental injury;
  • New employer risks due to improperly managed and investigated incidents of harassment;
  • Receive a checklist of requirements for developing a harassment response program and conducting a proper workplace harassment investigation;
  • Understand how you can build a workplace culture of respect and accountability that mitigates against harassment incidents happening in the first place.
