Dr. Ana Sanchez will present on Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs), which are a diverse group of 17 human and zoonotic diseases affecting the poorest people and under-served communities around the globe.
Not only do NTDs flourish in conditions of poverty and lack of safe water and sanitation, they are inextricably related to systematic inequity. Due to their crosscutting effects, NTDs can serve as indicators of progress for the Sustainable Development Goals, that require an integrated response to ensure sustainable development.
This event is hosted by Brock University’s Environmental Sustainability Research Centre.
