Please join us for a free live webinar as part of Brock University’s Lifespan Development Research Institute’s community speaker series entitled Treating postpartum depression, benefits for mom and baby on Tuesday, October 4 from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. EST

Maternal postpartum depression poses a major challenge to the health of mothers and their infants. However, recent evidence has shown that treatments for PPD improves maternal health, but also benefits infant emotional and behavioural development, as well as mother-infant interaction patterns.

This free webinar, Dr. John Krzeczkowski (York University Post-Doctoral Research Fellow and Director of the Strong Starts Research Program) returns to present exciting new evidence on:

  • How treating PPD in mothers improves their ability to soothe their infants during moments of distress
  • That treating PPD benefits infant emotion regulation months after the end of maternal treatment
  • How maternal sensitivity improvements can reorganize infant brain development
  • John will also discuss the exciting future of research on the benefits of PPD treatments on the infant brain

This webinar is free and open to the public, but registration is required to gain access to the online event. RSVP online at http://brocku.ca/lifespan-development-research/maternal-health-update/
