Back for the 17th year, the wouldurather… contest, hosted by Leave The Pack Behind, motivates Ontario young adults (ages of 18-29) to make positive changes to their tobacco use behaviour – whether that is quitting, cutting back, or renewing a decision to stay smoke-free. This year, there is $10,000 in cash prizes to be won! Any Ontario resident between 18-29 years can enter the contest online at www.wouldurather.ca.
Quitting smoking can be difficult, and not everyone is ready to quit right now. This contest uniquely offers four different categories in order to meet participants where they are at. Young adults can choose to quit completely in Quit For Good or cut back in Keep The Count and Party Without The Smoke. Non- or ex-smokers can enter Don’t Start & Win by pledging to stay smoke-free. To support young adults to quit or cut back successfully, the wouldurather contest offers contestants the option to receive support emails, add a personal support crew, access 8-weeks of free nicotine patch or gum, and get proactive support calls or texts from Smokers Helpline.
Leave The Pack Behind is asking all health care providers for support to promote this contest to the young people seen in practice. Free print promotional material is available for order; if you would like posters or palm-cards, please let me know!
Registration closes Sunday, January 28th, 2018.
Web banners and LCD screen ads are available for those who would like to incorporate them (attached is one version of the TV screen ad).
