Presentation Summary:

Join us Tuesday, May 02, 2023, from 10-11 AM to be inspired by practical ways people are integrating the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into their work in Niagara. Webinar presenters will share concrete examples of how they are including the SDGs in education and other campus activities. The intent is to give you some ideas that can be applied in your workplace!

Presenters:

  • Taryn Wilkinson, Manager of Sustainability, Niagara College. Taryn and her team build capacity to implement the SDGs by mapping activities, projects and community actions taking place in Niagara and beyond, while educating and engaging diverse stakeholders to increase literacy and support integrating the SDGs into existing and new activities.
  • Jocelyn Baker, Researcher for the UNESCO Chair (Liette Vasseur) on Community Sustainability, Brock University; Environmental Science Professor, Niagara College; and Canadian Co-Chair, Niagara River Binational Ramsar* Designation Steering Committee. Through an entrance-level E-Campus Module, Jocelyn helps  learners to understand the everyday relevance of the SDGs, and why it makes sense to care about them.  *Ramsar is an international convention for the conservation and sustainable use of wetlands.
