Telepsychology and Telehealth has been used for more than a decade, yet few practioners were using this modality, preferring in-person care. The majority of Telehealth service provision was reserved to access clients living in remote regions of Ontario.

The pandemic and stay-at-home orders have made telepractice a requirement for service delivery. Between March and June 2020, health providers have likely been inundated with training to learn how to proceed with Telehealth. The aim of the current session is to examine when to provide Telehealth services and an ethical decision-making framework.

Learning objectives:

-Participants will be able to identify the risks and benefits of Telehealth
-Ethical mental health issues related to telepractice will be identified
-Participants will be provided with an ethical framework to help with decision-making when telehealth is appropriate
-Case vignettes will be presented to highlight ethical issues and decision-making
