Applying a resilience lens to complex problems involves new ways of thinking about social-ecological systems and also finding new ways to influence how a system develops and evolves.

Originally conceived over a decade ago, resilience assessment is a structured process designed to engage a diversity of stakeholders in deepening their understanding of a system’s dynamics in order to yield new insights and inform decision-making.

The practice of resilience assessment is evolving alongside research advances and learning in the field.

This seminar will draw on past assessments in a variety of contexts, lessons learned and the current state of resilience assessment globally.

This event is hosted by the Environmental Sustainability Research Centre.
