Discussion of Findings: Annual Survey of Age-Friendly Community Initiatives in Ontario
With Dr. John Puxty, Primary Investigator, Ontario Age-Friendly Communities Outreach Program

In January and February 2021, the Ontario Age-Friendly Communities Outreach Program administered the Annual Survey of Age-friendly Community Initiatives (AFCIs) in Ontario. This presentation will draw a provincial picture of the AFC movement in Ontario through a discussion of survey findings on topics such as AFCI implementation (e.g. funding and governance structures), sustainability, enablers, challenges, outcomes, impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and engagement of priority populations. How the provincial survey can be used by AFCIs in their local work will also be discussed. Following the presentation, participants will have the opportunity to ask Dr. Puxty questions, as well as participate in a discussion on current gaps, emerging challenges and promising practices.
