I would like to invite you to attend our upcoming Brock NCO Agri-Innovation Research Day on Wednesday, January 25, 2023, an online symposium to present and discuss three projects we have been working on over the past two years, all funded through the Ontario Agri-food Research Initiative, by the Canadian Agricultural Partnership.

Over the course of our research, we have conducted focus groups, one-on-one interviews with industry stakeholders, and surveys. This research is currently being compiled in policy briefs for our final project reports. Our findings across all projects will be presented at a traditional NCO online workshop in three sessions, beginning at 10 am.

The full-day event will be organized as follows:

Morning Session (10am to 11:30 am) – Automation & Robotics Adoption in Ontario’s Agri-food Sector

What are the barriers and drivers for farmers when deciding whether or not to adopt advanced technologies in the agri-food sector? Our policy brief makes some recommendations as to what can be done to improve the uptake of these technologies. A panel (tbd) will also discuss our findings and where we go from here.

Lunchtime Session (12 noon to 1 pm) – Niagara Agriculture Municipal Learning Network.

This is a wrap-up of our learning network initiative in which we have provided critical resources and information to municipal staff and politicians to help them make evidence-based decisions to support and promote a sustainable agriculture sector in Niagara.

Afternoon Session (2 pm to 3:30 pm) – Mobilizing Knowledge for the Adoption of BMPs in Ontario’s Horticulture Sector

What is the role of knowledge mobilization in the adoption of environmental best management practices in Ontario’s horticulture sector? Our research goal has been to identify and evaluate the barriers to knowledge mobilization that impede the adoption of BMPs and to recommend knowledge mobilization strategies and approaches for overcoming the barriers.

Please RSVP to this email and I will send you the calendar invitation and link to this event. We use Microsoft Teams.
