Research studies and surveys show that older Canadians want to age in place or stay in their homes for as long as possible. This desire to stay in their homes only grows stronger as we age; however, the accommodations or adaptations needed to our homes can be overwhelming.
In part two of this webinar series, the Jamie Shipley, Knowledge Transfer & Outreach Consultant from the Canadian Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) will:
- Review Universal Design principles
- Explore how an attention to design can assist with the aging in place challenges and ensure a safe accessible environment for performing the activities of daily living in the home
- Highlight practical examples of aging in place strategies
A resource package will be provided to participants following the event.
